World’s Finest

Since early 2011, World’s Finest has turned many ears and hearts on to their one-of-a-kind sound. Creating what could best be described as Neo-Americana, they’ve bridged the gap between folk and bluegrass, ska and rock. Comprised of five members: Chris Couch (acoustic guitar, vox), Dan Hurley (electric banjo, vox), Sean McLean (sax, vox), Evan Malfer (upright bass), and Mike Apodaca (drums), the band constantly pushes their instrumentation to new limits; both in the studio and during their high-energy live performances. As individuals, they have separately played and lived music for many years. As a unit, they undoubtedly have found inspiration in each other’s taste, talents, and sensibilities.

Strong songwriting, inventive band interplay, beautiful vocal harmonies, and vivid improvisation are only a handful of the reasons why the band has garnered critical acclaim and an ever-growing regional and national fan base. With two full length albums, Pattern (2012) and “33” (2012), the group is amassing their strongest material yet for their newest record, due to be recorded in the spring/summer of 2014.

Constantly hitting the road, World’s Finest has already toured up and down the West Coast, playing in such beautifully renown venues as The Crystal Ballroom, The Wonder Ballroom, Horning’s Hideout, and the WOW Hall. Never satisfied to settle, World’s Finest is gearing up to tour through new markets in the U.S. and throughout the world.”
